“In the past, Drunken Devil has been known for solely producing large-scale nightlife events, such as our successful Bloody Gras and Curse of the Jungle Drums parties,” says Matt Dorado, Executive Producer and Creator of Drunken Devil. “Now, we want to begin producing monthly shows that are more accessible to the public. Since we first started as a company, burlesque has played an integral role in our events, so it makes sense that we expand upon our traditional burlesque shows for our first monthly revue.”
The first Deviled Eggs will take place at D’Vine Lounge in Downtown Los Angeles, a hidden wine bar in the basement of the O Hotel. “D’Vine is the perfect space to hold our burlesque revue. It’s intimate, lavish, with a fun speakeasy vibe to it,” says Dorado. A custom brunch menu will be created especially for this event, and will feature some new items never before seen at D’Vine. Bottomless mimosas, as well as a full bar with wine, beer, and specialty cocktails, will also be available during the event.
Deviled Eggs is not simply brunch and a show, but a fully realized, theatrical experience. “Each monthly edition will have a different theme. For our inaugural brunch, we are going back to the Twenties, featuring performances and an atmosphere inspired by the Jazz Age. Think bathtub gin, speakeasies, and the rebellious underground spirit during Prohibition,” says Dorado. “In the future, we plan on exploring a variety of themes, including different time periods, holidays, and events occurring in different parts of the world.”
This debut edition of Deviled Eggs will feature what Dorado calls “Drunken Devil’s Greatest Hits,” meaning you’ll see some familiar faces on the stage. “We are thrilled to work with some of our favorite performers for our first show. But, just because you’ve seen them before, doesn’t mean you’ve seen them like this.”
In addition to the burlesque performances, delicious food, and cocktails, Deviled Eggs will also feature roaming characters that will engage with audience members throughout the show. “Drunken Devil productions are never linear. We always like to feature an added element of interactivity so guests can truly feel immersed in a different world, even if it’s for a short time.”
