The all-new “Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” experience will resonate throughout the immersive land this yuletide season transforming the iconic HogwartsTM castle into a dazzling light projection spectacular, while the quaint town of Hogsmeade village shines brightly with décor uniquely themed to each of the individual storefronts.

The a cappella Frog Choir, comprised of Hogwarts students and their giant throaty frogs, will perform all-new holiday themed songs.

A wide selection of all-new custom-made Christmas ornaments created especially for “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will also debut this season. Collectibles include a variety of decorative Hogwarts castle snow globes, Hogwarts crest and mascot ornaments representing each of the houses, as well as a collection of unique tree toppers and house pennant garland.

Newly introduced holiday-themed fare and the eagerly-awaited seasonal return of hot Butterbeer will further complement the overall experience.

“Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will take place daily from November 24, 2017 through January 7, 2018.

The all-new “Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” experience invites guests to celebrate this special time of year in J.K. Rowling’s compelling Wizarding World for themselves.

As night falls on Hogsmeade village, “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts TM Castle” will illuminate Hogwarts™ School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with colorful imagery and impressive dimensional animations that dance across Hogwarts castle in tandem to a musical arrangement from the Harry Potter movies.

“Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” represents the immersive land’s first holiday themed program since opening at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2016.

“Grinchmas™” returns to Universal Studios Hollywood with a Who-lebration of fun fit for The Grinch, his faithful dog Max and a roster of Who-ville Whos.  The annual event comes to life with a towering 60 foot tall whimsical “Grinchmas” tree where Martha May Who-vier and the Who Dolls will take center stage performing energetic musical sets to usher in the Christmas season in style.  The Who-liday Singers—a hip boy-band ensemble—will perform nightly a cappella concerts featuring a mix of Christmas favorites and pop rock.

“Grinchmas” will take place weekends on December 2-3 and 9-10, and daily from December 15 through December 31, 2017.

Spirited holiday décor and festive whimsy will permeate throughout the theme park including “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” and the adjoining “Super Silly Fun Land” as a crew of very merry and mischievous Minions gleefully spread Christmas cheer to visitors of all ages.

A spectacular 40-foot tall Christmas tree will glisten with 200,000 LED icicles choreographed to the lights and sounds of the season in the 5 Towers plaza. Santa Claus will make nightly appearances and offer special photo opportunities at 5 Towers.

LORE: a haunting experience from the minds of Creep LA, based on the Amazon Prime Exclusive Series

9/14/2017

Creep LA to bring to life Amazon Prime Exclusive's Lore for an Immersive Horror Experience
Picture
Los Angeles –– Brought to you by Just Fix It (JFI) Productions, the creative minds behind Creep LA and The Willows, comes a truly unique immersive experience imagined from the world of Amazon Prime Exclusive’s upcoming series Lore – derived from Aaron Mahnke’s popular podcast Lore which averages five million monthly listens.

Taking place at Magic Box LA (1933 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA, 90007; with entrance to Creep LA: Lore located at 1986 Hill St, Los Angeles, CA, 90007) in Downtown LA on select dates from October 5th through November 12th, thrill seekers are invited to step into an altered world where folklore comes to life. Whereas fear is best kept buried, Creep LA embraces the folklore to unveil the frightening truth: the scariest stories are often rooted in truth. In this space, stories aren’t just tales around a campfire, but an experience that will creep inside and leave you haunted.

The upcoming Amazon Prime Exclusive’s new series Lore is a six-episode anthology series (streaming globally on Amazon Prime on October 13th) that presents the frightening and often disturbing tales based on real people and events that have led to our modern-day myths and legends. Celebrating the origins of the horror genre, Lore explores the real-life tales behind pop culture’s most legendary horror myths, such as vampires, changelings, werewolves, séances and possessed dolls. Creep LA will bring real-life historical events that birthed many folk tales which ultimately spawned some of our darkest nightmares to life pulling inspiration and using elements from the show.

JFI Productions’ Creator/Producer, Justin Fix said of collaborating with Amazon, "We couldn't be more excited to have Amazon join us on this season. Creep LA's experiences have always focused on the darkness of humanity and the human condition. There is no better opportunity than Lore to focus on the past and the creation of these monsters we have grown to fear. While monsters are scary, the people behind the masks are the real danger."

JFI Productions has also partnered with True Connection, a nonprofit dedicated to youth empowerment through art, mediation and SEL (Social & Emotional Learning) for the third season of Creep LA.

Upon entering Creep LA: Lore, handlers will guide groups of eight brave souls inside this imagined universe where groups travel through a fully engaging, multi-sensory, 1-hour walk-thru experience within a dynamic and diverse environment of moody rooms, intimate encounters, and terrifying scenarios. At  Creep LA: Lore, everyone is part of the experience whether they intend to be or not.

Past Creep LA experiences have received rave reviews and praised JFI Productions’ Justin Fix and
his team, Producing Partner J.T. Swierczek, Writer Daniel Montgomery, Artistic Director David Ruzicka, Performance Director Fione Rene, and Choreographer Steph Turek along with seasoned collaborators and their cast of top artists for building unique spaces and delivering top-notch boundary-pushing experiences.

Now in its third season, Creep LA has continuously sold out their previous event series almost immediately upon going on sale.

Tickets for Creep LA: Lore are for ADULTS ONLY and scheduled to go on sale on Friday, September 15th at 10am PDT. Ticket prices start at $65. For more information and to purchase
tickets, please visit: www.CreepLA.com.

Holy Smokes! Urban Death: Tour Of Terror Haunts Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre Group in North Hollywood for its Fifth Year of Nightmares

9/11/2017

Picture
This Halloween season the darkened doors of Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre Group will slowly slip open and summon guests inside to experience Urban Death: Tour of Terror. The show will run on Friday and Saturday nights, October 6th - October 28th, plus Monday October 30th and Halloween night, Tuesday October 31st.  A special press and haunters performance will be held Thursday, October 5th at 9 pm.

Tour of Terror takes ZJU's signature show, Urban Death, a series of horror vignettes designed to shock, delight and titillate audiences, and transforms it into an immersive haunted experience.  The show will steer theater-goers and thrill-seekers through a terrifying performance and maze of inexplicable horrors, unfathomable monstrosities, and the disturbing spirits that walk among us.
The doors to the lobby opens five times an evening as guests are led through the maze in groups of two or three. Guests are provided with only a muted flashlight to guide them.  Once through the maze and into the theater the flashlight is taken away and the show begins.  After the show they are again given flashlights to walk back through the maze, where new performances and haunted surprises await them.

The fifth year promises to be the biggest, scariest and best yet, as co-directors and creators Zombie Joe and Jana Wimer keep pushing the show to new heights.  Drawing on twelve years of Urban Death performances, the duo knows exactly how to twist the knife. The maze and show has evolved each year, pushing into new and surprising territory and promising an unforgettable experience for newcomers and returning fans.

For the last four years the event has been heralded by fans and critics alike for the imaginative quality of the scares and the talent of the performers within the maze. Between Yelp (4.5 stars) and Facebook (4.8 stars) Urban Death: Tour of Terror has left reviewers shaken.  A few examples:

"Best horror experience you'll find. Stuff straight from a nightmare, unique; this theater focuses on amazing acting skills to bring us into a walking nightmare. Couldn't recommend more." - A Five Star Facebook Review

"Urban Death was exactly what I was hoping for, and more! It was creative, dark, and unique to anything I have ever seen. The actors were phenomenal, and you could tell they were passionate about their work." - A Five Star Yelp Review

"Urban Death: Tour of Terror is the adult costume that Halloween wears when it goes trick-or-treating here in Los Angeles – and we love every last drop...become familiar with the world of Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group and get your tickets NOW for Urban Death Tour of Terror!" - Rick West Editor in Chief Theme Park Adventure and Co-Creator Midsummer Scream

“This year’s cast is epic,” explains co-director and producer Zombie Joe. “We're so excited to bring this show back for its fifth year and bring the audience into our world. The show is a labor of love and you can see our blood, sweat and tears in every scream.”

“This show is intense,” says actor Abel Horwitz, who has performed in Urban Death 100+ times. “Hearing the screams and shrieks of the audience is such a rush. We know our show is as scary, if not scarier, than anything the big theme parks can throw at you.”

As the show’s popularity continues to grow in leaps and bounds – bringing more and more guests into the theater each year – we recommend two things: buying your tickets early, and visiting the show for the first two weekends it runs. The closer we get to Halloween the more shows we sell out.

Urban Death: Tour of Terror is an experience that creeps deep inside the brain and refuses to let go.  You've been warned.
