DRUNKEN DEVIL INVITES GUESTS TO CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN WITH THREE HORROR-FUELED EVENTS

8/26/2019

LOS ANGELES, CA - (August 26, 2019) Drunken Devil prepares to bring its high-level themed parties and decadent dining experiences to the 2019 Halloween season with three thrilling and chilling events: To Live and Di(n)e in LA, Bloody Brunch, and Black Magick.
Picture
The hit true crime-inspired supper club, To Live and Di(n)e in LA, returns to celebrate its 2-year anniversary with a special two-night seating. The true crime inspired show, which debuted in September 2017 at Think Tank Gallery’s Drinkin’, Smokin’, and West Coastin’ art show, has evolved over the years to the high-demand dining experience. At this haunting dinner party, guests sit down with the ghosts of infamous LA true crime figures including Charles Manson, Elizabeth Short, and Richard Ramirez. Guests will enjoy a decadent four-course meal, each representing a different figure and time period, along with paired cocktails and free-flowing wine. Between courses, guests will enjoy themed performances, driving the narrative as they explore LA’s sordid history through cuisine and cocktails. This intimate immersive dining experience will have two seatings across Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd with a limited amount of seats available each night. Programming is identical both nights.

Picture
On Saturday, October 5th, Drunken Devil’s new spooky morning romp, Bloody Brunch, returns to El Cid in Silverlake for another morning of ghostly variety acts by some of Los Angeles' top performers. LA’s first and only horror-themed brunch, Bloody Brunch is a theatrical experience, inspired by kitschy horror TV specials of the 60s and 70s, and hosted by a pair of delightfully devious, yet campy characters based on icons like Vampira and Vincent Price. Guests can imbibe on themed cocktails (designed specifically for the show) as well as classic brunch fare like mimosas and bloody marys, enjoy delicious food, and are encouraged to dress up for the occasion.

Picture
In tradition of hosting a Halloween party, Drunken Devil will present Black Magick on Saturday, October 19th, which will whisk guests back to the height of the Golden Age of Magic, the 1920s. Guests will meet a host of characters inspired by famous magicians like Houdini, Thurston, and Carter, and be plunged into a dark narrative inspired by the mythology surrounding Old Hollywood’s ties to the occult. An open bar featuring a slew of magic-themed cocktails, wine, and beer, tantalizing burlesque acts, roaming magicians, tarot readers, live jazz, and a late-night dance party all await at this wildly theatrical Halloween experience. Guests are invited to dress up in theme as they experience an evening of enchantment, mystery, and horror.

All three events are now on sale with tickets available at www.thedrunkendevil.com/events. Special presale pricing is available for Black Magick until October 1st (see website for details). Drunken Devil’s events are strictly 21+, have limited inventory, and are expected to sell out.

THE GREAT COMPANY AND DELUSION ANNOUNCE ALT DELETE FOR FALL

8/26/2019

The new show starts on Sept 18th. Tickets on sale now.

Picture
(LOS ANGELES, CA, August 26,2019) — Coming off the spring 2019 extension of the hit interactive play Delusion: The Blue Blade, Alt Delete will be a never before seen, interactive chapter from the Blue Blade Saga running this fall 2019 that is sure to captivate current fans of the Delusion Universe and newcomers alike. Individual and group tickets are now available at www.bluebladesaga.com

From visionary creator Jon Braver and The Great Company comes Alt Delete; a spin-off chapter from the time traveling epic that was The Blue Blade. Rogue scientist Evelyn Lowell, wielding the famed Blue Blade, created a black market time travel business. Professor Lowell is as elusive as she is wealthy, but every tear in time she creates for her clients leaves a path for pursuers. And there are plenty.

Covering Evelyn’s tracks is the job of her Underwriters; assessors of danger and eliminators of risk. There’s been a breach in Professor Lowell's Computer Lab in 1982. Time to do your job.

For a limited time with limited guests, experience the interactive chapter before it’s wiped from existence. Remake history, and play your part.

Heralded by NPR as the “hottest ticket in town”, Delusion has captivated sold-out audiences since its first play opened in 2011, transforming them into characters inside a living, breathing, dark world of epic interactive storytelling. Alt Delete marks a deviation in tone and structure from traditional Delusion shows, but in the best way possible.

Set in an '80s-adjacent era and with the humor reminiscent of Thor: Ragnarok, the additions bring the production to an even broader audience, including those who have never experienced Delusion or interactive theater before. Tickets start at $38. Past seasons have sold out quickly, so we encourage guests to book tickets while they are still available.

ABOUT GREATCO The Great Company (GreatCo) is a Los Angeles-based experiential studio that collaborates with IP rights holders, global brands, and cultural institutions to produce interactive installations and immersive experiences that connect audiences in meaningful ways and transform the perception of time and reality. Live actors, creature effects, stunts, elaborate set design, and an original score weave together a tale unlike any other.

His love for the fantastical and experience working with some of the top directors in the business has helped to shape his unusual range of talent and keen ability to deliver a unique vision. He began work on his Delusion Universe in 2011 and continues to shepherd the property as it expands to new audiences and formats.

With a library of over 500 board games and a top flight lunch and dinner menu, guests can play and dine while enjoying some of California's best craft beers. A True Horror Museum, HAUS OF CREEP Skewers “Grammable” Culture with a Surreal Exploratory Art Experience
Picture
Los Angeles, California (August 22, 2019) – Creep L.A., presented by Just Fix It Productions, welcomes all into the dark-heart of downtown with their fifth installment: HAUS OF CREEP. Since 2015, Creep L.A. has welcomed over 20,000 creeps through their doors and beginning on Friday the 13 this September, Creep L.A. will immerse guests in a bizarre and shocking world where reality and performance art blur together.

The roughly 75-minute multi-sensory exhibit brings guests into the world of Creep L.A., a darkly satirical and terrifying send-up of social media-driven culture. With the growing popularity of “grammable museums”, businesses and consumers are devouring art as a commodity. HAUS OF CREEP sets out to remind us that art is alive, and it can’t be restricted to a little square photo without dangerous consequences. HAUS guests will spend the hour roaming the avant-garde and nightmarish playground of over a dozen installations, witnessing grand and shocking scenes as well as intimate scares. Elaborate lighting and diverse and detailed environments create a surreal world in which guests may find themselves lost— unsure of where reality ends and the show begins. HAUS OF CREEP tells its story with a cast of 20 provocative characters and features a sultry lounge, small dark spaces, shadow plays, deranged puppet shows and innovative analog installations by MEDIA POLLUTION.

“This year marks our fifth year producing Creep L.A., a project that started out in its infancy as a self-funded production supported by friends and family, to what is now a collection of aberrant theatrical experiences that have hosted over 20,000 guests to date,” said Justin Fix, Founder of Creep L.A. and Just Fix It Productions. “Moving forward, we are excited to bring a myriad of new experiences throughout the year to Los Angeles and beyond.”

Picture
HAUS OF CREEP is directed by Justin Fix, written by Daniel Montgomery and choreographed by Stephanie Turek. Creep L.A. has been a high-end, buzz-worthy Los Angeles Halloween staple for the past five years, with fans like Will Smith, Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Olivia Wilde, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. HAUS OF CREEP is housed at the ROW DTLA, encompassing a 5,000 square foot gallery space in the historic downtown Arts District. The twisted 21+ experience will feature four shows a night with up to 50 guests per performance. Upon arrival, guests will enter a CREEP lounge where they can enjoy a selection of beer and wine throughout their stay at the HAUS OF CREEP. Proceeds from sales in the CREEP lounge will benefit Beautify Earth, a nonprofit putting an end to blighted walls and fixtures by empowering artists, encouraging social responsibility, and instilling community pride in impoverished or neglected communities, streets, walls and fixtures.

HAUS OF CREEP will run from September 13th through November 3rd on all weekends with some weeknights available.

Tickets are $69. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with shows beginning every 90 minutes.

Universal City, CA, August 21, 2019 – Temptation is unleashed in “The Curse of Pandora’s Box,” Universal Studios Hollywood’s all-original “Halloween Horror Nights” maze that spills the evils of humanity across this twisted ancient Greek mythology-inspired experience, beginning Friday, September 13.

Greed is the underlying theme of this all-new maze, resurrected from Universal Studios Hollywood’s vault of masterful storytelling that transports guests from the land of the living into the nightmarish netherworld of Hades. The scene begins with “Pandora’s Cabinet of Curiosities,” a dilapidated storefront set in modern times that is, nonetheless, eerily reminiscent of a structure that belongs in the dark and dangerous back alleys of Victorian London.

Amid every occultist artefacts and forbidden relics known to man, the bizarre shop houses an all-consuming collection of evil trapped behind glass-encased cabinets, including a giant, ornate box inlaid with human bones and adorned with the silhouette of a mysterious woman clasping her body with skeletal arms.

As guests pass through the shop they will hear a faint, yet seductive voice echoing the words, “anything can be acquired, anything our hearts desire,” beckoning maze-goers to tempt fate, just as a cataclysmic earthquake erupts, shaking the shop and swinging open the ornate box to awaken a demonic voice whispering in a foreign tongue to “come inside.”

Once Pandora’s Box has been opened and evil unleashed, it can never be closed again.

Tickets for “Halloween Horror Nights” are on sale now, including the first-ever Fan Preview Night which offers an exclusive sneak peek of the event on Thursday, September 12, before it officially opens to the public on Friday, September 13.

“Halloween Horror Nights” brings together the sickest minds in horror to immerse guests in a living, breathing, three-dimensional world of terror and features a slate of unrivaled film and television production quality mazes, frightful scare zones and live performances, inspired by today’s most definitive horror properties.

This year’s 10 mazes include “Us,” based on Jordan Peele’s critically-acclaimed blockbuster film; the iconic pop culture classic “Ghostbusters;” the Netflix original series “Stranger Things;” the 1980s film thriller, “Killer Klowns from Outer Space;” “Creepshow,” inspired by the 1980s cult classic film and the new anthology series airing on Shudder; Rob Zombie’s “House of 1000 Corpses;” “Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man,” inspired by Universal’s original cinematic monsters and the movie studio that invented the horror films; the all-original “Holidayz in Hell” maze and “The Walking Dead.”

Updates on “Halloween Horror Nights” at Universal Studios Hollywood are available online at Hollywood.HalloweenHorrorNights.com and on Facebook at: “Halloween Horror Nights – Hollywood,” Instagram at @HorrorNights and Twitter at @HorrorNights as Creative Director John Murdy reveals a running chronicle of exclusive information. Knott’s Berry Farm Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary With Grand Summer-Long Celebration

8/15/2019

Don’t Miss Out on the “Knott’s 100th Anniversary: A Knott’s Family Reunion,”
A Tribute to the Knott Family’s Rich History

Picture
Buena Park, Calif. – In 2020, Knott’s Berry Farm will present “A Knott’s Family Reunion,“ a summer-long event paying tribute to the Knott family’s transcendent history by celebrating the last 100 years of memories in the making.

The Knott family’s American dream began in the berry fields of Buena Park from a curbside berry stand in 1920 and grew into the world-renowned theme park it is today.  What started with a humble farm evolved into a premier destination that has come to witness 100 years of historical and timeless memories shared among friends, neighbors and families from around the world.

To commemorate Knott’s Berry Farm’s milestone anniversary, the park will present “A Knott’s Family Reunion,” a summer-long event paying tribute to Knott’s history and legacy of family fun.  Guests will be immersed in a once-in-a-lifetime celebration featuring festive park décor, themed food items, unique entertainment, exclusive merchandise and special surprises along the way, all paying homage to the nostalgia that surrounds the historic theme park. Details about the exciting 100th anniversary celebration festivities will be announced in the coming months.

Background
Nearly 100 years ago, the Knott family settled in the community of Buena Park and began farming 20 acres of land on Highway 39, now known as Beach Blvd.  Around 1930, Walter and Cordelia Knott came upon what eventually Walter named the boysenberry – a cross between a loganberry, red raspberry and blackberry – a new hybrid originally developed by Rudolph Boysen, for whom the berry got its name.  While Boysen had no luck bringing the berry to market, Walter did, acquired it from Boysen and today, the roots of the boysenberry can be traced back solely to Knott’s Berry Farm.

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner
To make ends meet during the Great Depression, Cordelia Knott started selling jams and jellies made from Walter’s boysenberries and in 1934, served her first chicken dinner meals on her very own wedding china, charging just 65 cents.  Through word of mouth, locals and visitors from around the state began stopping by to enjoy the famous fried chicken dinner meals. To entertain the hundreds of customers lining up at the restaurant for a chicken dinner meal, and to pay homage to the pioneering spirit of his grandparents along with his love of the Old West, Walter built a working Ghost Town, eventually becoming the first of Knott’s Berry Farm’s four themed areas. Slowly Walter brought in relics from other deserted ghost towns and Knott’s Ghost Town as it exists today emerged, becoming the heart and soul of the park.  The Knott’s vision and imagination led to the creation of the themed areas that celebrate California’s vast history and landscape. Through hard work and dedication, Walter and Cordelia, along with their four children, created a special place for families to come together to build lasting memories. The “Knott’s Family Reunion” will be the biggest celebration the park has ever hosted to date.

“The Knott family vision and values led to the birth of Knott’s Berry Farm, and through this milestone celebration it is our opportunity to honor the last 100 years of remarkable memories that have shaped our history,” said Jon Storbeck, General Manager of Knott’s Berry Farm. “The 100th-anniversary celebration embraces the farm’s rich history and signifies the importance of the Knott family’s commitment to building a place for generations of guests to create lifelong memories.”

The best way to enjoy all of the fun offered during the 100th anniversary celebration at Knott’s along with all of the other exciting Seasons of Fun events is with a 2020 Season Pass. [Orlando, FL] –August 9, 2019 –  Florida’s history is coming back to haunt you as Dark Horizon: Point of No Return makes its debut in Orlando, Florida October 4 – November 2, 2019 with the first-ever West Coast-style haunt in the East. Brought to you by the award-winning creators, producers, and directors for one of the most terrifying haunts in the world: The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. Dark Horizon is pleased to announce three gruesome haunted houses, two death-defying live entertainment stages, multiple immersive bars, private party Bootlegger Bungalows and more.

Dark Horizon emerges in Orlando with much anticipation, to feast upon fears, fray nerves, and curdle the blood of its daring visitors. The haunted attraction is divided into different zones, each highlighting pieces of Florida’s dark history, myths and lore. “We really like to dive into local legends and history,” shared Charity Hill Co-producer for Dark Horizon.

The Port is akin to one of the late 1700’s pirate port’s in what is now Florida. This zone features the Bootlegger Bungalows, Walk the Plank Pub & Pier, Siren Stage, Dark Horizon Gift Shop, Shark Bites and the entrance to the Marketplace and Panic! 4-D Maze Experience. The Port is also home to the haunted house, Ghostship, a disease-infested, loot-filled vessel adrift on the high seas. This phantom tall ship is filled with deranged and decaying seamen bound to wreak havoc in Dark Horizon’s Port. Will you live to tell the tale or will Captain Killigrew, the most feared female pirate in history, and her derelict crew be your demise?

Escape the clutches of one of Florida’s first serial killer’s, Edgar “Bloody” Watson in the haunted house: Murder Island. Known as a hotbed for murderers, ancient creatures and bizarre tales, thrill-seekers will come face-to-face with the brutality that shadowed the 10,000 islands in the late 1800’s turning it into a shallow grave for at least 57 of Bloody Watson’s sugar cane workers. Murder Island is in The Glades Zone, a virtually lawless land, home to the VIP Storm Cellar, Outpost Pub and Gator Grub.

Experience Sacred Circle Stage and Shelter Patio in The Village. This area is under the enchantment of Mambo Cècile and the haunted house: Vodou. The high priestess has awakened the ancient Loa Agwe, spirit of the water, so proceed with extreme caution through the foggy bog to the underworld Volikan.

For those looking to elevate their experience, Dark Horizon offers an air-conditioned R.I.P. Lounge (or VIP Lounge), called the Storm Cellar R.I.P. Lounge accessed only by a coveted key. This experience includes two complimentary cocktails and grants access to a premium full bar featuring Moonshine Tastings. This key must be used in combination with an event admission ticket, and is for guests ages 21-years and older. Want to skip the lines? Expedite your entry into the event and all the haunted houses with a Fast Fright Ticket (starting at just $74 per person). Or, enjoy nearly instant entry into the event and all the haunted houses with an Evil Express Ticket (starting at $94 per person). Looking for a high-class VIP experience? Spring for the most exclusive experience at Dark Horizon with the Ultimate Scream ticket. This privately-guided and curated experience is extremely limited and available on select nights. Fast Fright and Evil Express Tickets are limited nightly and prices vary depending on date.

With Dark Horizon’s disturbingly creative minds, 4 bars and Bootlegger Bungalows, 3 haunted houses and scare zones, 2 live stages, 1 Panic! 4-D Experience, and hundreds of Monsters, Dark Horizon is certain to be a screamin’ good time.

Dark Horizon opens its doors on October 4 and continues to scare those who dare on select nights through November 2. General admission ticket prices start at just $20 online with Happy Haunting Hour, Fast Fright, Evil Express, Ultimate Scream tickets and Storm Cellar R.I.P. Lounge keys available. Universal City, CA, August 8, 2019 – Colombian-born Carmen Villalobos and the star of Telemundo’s series “El Final del Paraiso” takes on a new leading role as the video host of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Spanish-language Studio Tour, providing entertaining insight for guests designed to complement the “live” narration provided by expert Studio Tour guides.

The updated Spanish-language Studio Tour featuring Carmen Villalobos’ vignettes will officially begin on Friday, August 30.

“I have always been a fan of Universal Studios Hollywood and amazed at how the Studio Tour gives people a genuine peek at show business in action,” said Carmen Villalobos.  “We had so much fun filming the segments for the Spanish Studio Tour and I am beyond thrilled to now be a part of this amazing attraction that brings guests just a little bit closer to the magic of Hollywood.”

A signature attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood for over 50 years, the world-famous Studio Tour has taken millions of guests behind-the-scenes of an authentic movie and television studio, immersing guests in the exciting and elusive world of movie-making magic.  The hallmark attraction provides remarkable access to movie sets on a working production lot, taking guests onto areas of the studio typically restricted to authorized movie production personnel.

With these three quintessential words—lights, camera, action—which are synonymous with the glamorous world of Hollywood, the Studio Tour leads visitors on a thrilling journey past historic soundstages and famous films sets where some of Hollywood’s most memorable movies and television shows were made.

During their 45 minute Studio Tour, guests span a retrospective timeline of favorite films on New York Street, the filming location for such movies as Hobbs & Shaw, Transformers and The Sting; Courthouse Square, made famous in the Back to the Future movies and To Kill A Mockingbird; the cobblestone streets of Little Europe where such films as The Pink Panther and Pirates of the Caribbean, were filmed; Six Points Texas, home to Hollywood’s greatest Western films, and Court of Miracles where Dracula, Frankenstein and The Hunchback of Notre Dame made horror film history.

The world-famous Studio Tour is a featured attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood and is included in the cost of admission to the theme park.

Spanish-language tours run multiple times day and it is recommended to visit www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com for daily schedules.

Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” also appears in a variety of entertaining interstitial videos that provide similar contextual insight on the English-speaking Studio Tour.

Carmen Villalobos, one of today’s best-known actresses on U.S. Hispanic television, started her career in her native Colombia. Since then, she’s appeared in numerous telenovelas, gaining international notoriety for her role in Telemundo’s iconic “Sin senos no hay paraíso,” in which she played the unforgettable Catalina Santana. The role quickly propelled her to fame and earned her an exclusive contract with the network. She has gone on to participate in multiple productions for the network, including “Niños ricos, pobres padres,” “Mi corazón insiste,” “Ojo por ojo” and the Emmy Award-winning Super Series™ “El Señor de Los Cielos.”

Nine years after “Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso” first aired, Villalobos returned to reprise the role of Catalina Santana in its sequel, “Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso.” That same year, she was also the co-host for Telemundo’s Premios Tu Mundo (Your World Awards). With over 12+ million followers, Villalobos is recognized as a social media influencer.

“El Final del Paraiso” premieres on Telemundo on Tuesday, August 13 at 9pm/8c.
