CREEP L.A. BUILDS A HAUNTED TOWN INSIDE AN ICONIC LOCATION IN THE HEARTOF HOLLYWOOD

9/16/2021

Picture
This fall, guests will sip on libations before being immersed into JFI Productions’ trademark scary world of sensory story-telling in a brand-new experiential theater venue right off theatre row.
Los Angeles, California (September 16, 2021) - Known for reimagining and redefining the theatre-going experience, Just Fix It Productions (JFI) proves this year will be no exception-- all the while taking into consideration the ever-changing post-quarantine climate. 2021’s iteration of CREEP L.A. is filled with intimate moments, deep connections and soul-shaking chills & thrills, all within the bounds of safety, compliance, consent, and, of course, facial coverings. But what’s Halloween without a good mask, anyway? Guests will find themselves in a multitude of surprising worlds including a spooky and sultry bar, a desolate town-square populated with odd characters, and a world-warping haunted house with a mind of its own.

CREEP L.A. intertwines nuanced and in-depth story-telling with hands-on audience interaction, fostering emotional connections and unforgettable moments. Equal parts beautiful and terrifying, the CREEP L.A. experience has been described by guests as feeling like they’re truly inside a horror movie. Since 2015, CREEP L.A. has reached sold-out audiences of over 30,000, receiving rave reviews for its groundbreaking approach to the genre. Utilizing 3,000-60,000 sq/ft spaces, upwards of 30 cast members, and a creative team from diverse backgrounds, CREEP L.A. has solidified itself as L.A.’s go-to Halloween event. With only 6 showtimes a night, this year CREEP L.A. welcomes intimate groups of 6 brave souls into its dark and twisted world on select dates September 29th - October 31st.

  • “We are thrilled to bring theatre back to LA in an innovative and tangible way. It feels fitting for CREEP L.A. to not only be located in the heart of the city, but, also, so close to the theatre community. We have missed connecting with our audiences in-person and cannot wait to creep them out in the safest way possible,” said Justin Fix, director of CREEP L.A. and founder of JFI Productions.

This season of CREEP L.A. will take place at The Ghost Light, a brand new experiential theatre venue nestled within the walls of the iconic Three Clubs in Hollywood (1123 Vine St., Los Angeles 90038). With a full bar, themed cocktail list, and host of haunting performers, The Three Clubs becomes part of CREEP L.A. from 7-10PM, before opening up to the public after the performance. For nearly 30 years, The Three Clubs has been an anchor for artists and theatre-makers, and JFI Productions couldn’t be more proud to bring their brand of boundary-pushing theatre to Santa Monica Blvd’s theatre row. Aiming to reimagine nightlife in Los Angeles, JFI Productions will serve as artistic directors and creative producers for The Ghost Light, seeking to make this new venue a home for surreal experiences in L.A.

In addition to CREEP L.A. this fall, JFI Productions will be bringing to life the Amazon original series I Know What You Did Last Summer as a mysterious, subversive, debaucherous interactive experience. Inspired by Lois Duncan’s 1973 novel (also the basis of the iconic 1997 film), the new series follows a group of teenagers bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town - and themselves. Guests of the experience are welcomed into a small town celebrating its graduating class, starting with a euphoric party and culminating in a dark and twisted journey through an unforgettable night. Taking place at The Ghost Light theater at Three Clubs in Hollywood (1123 Vine St, Los Angeles 90038), this free event runs Wednesday October 13th - Sunday October 17th. Guests may reserve their free tickets on September 29th at www.TheGhostLightLA.com New series October 15th. #IKnowWhatYouDid

For all performances The Ghost Light asks audiences to join in providing the safest space possible for patrons and cast & crew. COVID-19 policy requires ticket holders to wear masks and to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Past CREEP L.A. experiences have received rave reviews and praised JFI Productions’ Justin Fix and his team: Producing Partner J.T. Swierczek, Writer & Co-Artistic Director Daniel Montgomery, Co-Artistic Director & Managing Director Stephanie Turek, and Head of Production & Creative Producer Kristin Childers. CREEP L.A. has continually sold out their previous event series almost immediately upon going on sale. Tickets for CREEP L.A. are $95 per person (2 ticket minimum) and for ADULTS ONLY 21+. 9/15/2021

Immersive Drive-Thru Holiday Light Show Begins November 26th through January 2nd at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa; Features More Than One Million Lights Animated to Music, Interactive Holiday Vignettes, Characters, Special Effects, and More
COSTA MESA, CA – September 15, 2021 – Night of Lights OC, a magical and interactive winter wonderland drive-thru experience presented by Winter Fest OC, returns to the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa this November to provide the Southern California community with a safe, family-friendly holiday celebration. The Night of Lights OC experience guides guests through a mile-long drive-thru course filled with more than one million lights, themed holiday scenery and immersive vignettes, animated light shows, snow flurries and tunnels synchronized to music, special effects, even more interactive characters including Santa through December 24th and more.

“Building on the immense success of last year’s inaugural Night of Lights OC, we are thrilled to return with an even bigger and more magical holiday drive-thru event beginning Thanksgiving weekend through the New Year,” said Katrina Carlson, executive producer of Night of Lights OC. “Night of Lights OC allows you and your loved ones to enjoy the magic of the holiday season from the comfort and safety of your own vehicle, keeping annual holiday traditions alive.”

Night of Lights OC kicks-off the holiday season on Friday, November 26th and runs Wednesday to Sunday nights through January 2nd. The experience begins at 5:00 p.m. with ticketed time slots available until 10:00 p.m. (Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday) or 11:00 p.m. (Friday and Saturday).

This year, guests will enjoy many new themed experiences and immersive vignettes including a drive-in movie queue area when they arrive, featuring classic holiday movies playing and strolling entertainers offering holiday favorite treats to enjoy before starting their magical holiday journey. Additional new experiences include an interactive Santa’s Workshop with synchronized lights to music, Toyland where a toy chest is brought to life, Steam Engine Springs with model trains, Santa Takes Flight as St. Nick greets guests through December 24th, plus the return of the most popular vignette from last year: Winter Wonderland, with even more snow flurries to dust car windows!

“Last year, guests were amazed that Night of Lights OC was so much more than a typical drive-thru light show, there was interactive entertainment and special effects that invited you to become a part of this unique experience,” continued Carlson. “This year, we are planning to add even more unique experiences as guests will drive-thru a mile long path of holiday magic as they’re taken through dazzling lights and spectacular scenes including a Christmas Village, Santa’s Workshop, Forest of Lights, and Winter Wonderland. Whether it’s a family outing, date night, company get together or girls night, we’re thrilled to bring holiday cheer to the Southern California community with a safe and fun activity for all ages.”

Also, new this year, Night of Lights OC is excited to announce a partnership with the Power of One Foundation’s Annual Toy Drive. Beginning opening night through December 17th, guests attending Night of Lights OC are encouraged to bring new toys for boys and girls ages 1-15 to donate as they will be collected by the elves at Santa’s Workshop in Night of Lights OC. Our goal is to put a smile on the faces of more than 3,000 children in need in Orange County during Christmas by putting a toy in their hands and leaving a lasting impression in their hearts during the holiday season. Toys will be distributed to qualifying low-income families on select nights.

PIRATE’S CAVE 2021 PRESS RELEASE

9/13/2021

Picture
The Pirate’s Cave home haunt has been providing family friendly scares to the city of Villa Park & Orange for 22 years now. It’s a labor of love headed up by the father and son team, Dave & Jacob Larson (pictured right) at our home in Orange.

New to the neighborhood, Dave started the unofficial Pirate's Cave back in 1999. That first year, Dave simply stood out in the front yard with a "Phantom of the Opera" mask and a shovel. The haunt has been growing each year after.

In 2004, his son Jacob was born into the haunt life. Over the years, Jacob grew a strong passion for Halloween and slowly began to help his dad more and more every year to construct the annual haunted house.

The father and son now work hand in hand and create memorable screams for years to come.

It takes them about 6 months of preparation and up to 25 volunteers to run the haunt each year. Our volunteers are Jacob’s fellow students & some of their parents. The Pirate’s Cave is a family friendly pirate-themed haunt recommended for ages 10- adult. No blood or gore here. As a result of our efforts over the years, The Pirates Cave and Garfield Ave. have become the premiere destination for trick or treating on Halloween.

What will you do this year?
Last year’s show was a socially distanced stage presentation in the front yard due to COVID. This year, we are excited to be back to our favorite walk-through format. The event is titled “Pirates Cave:Curse of Calico Jack” This year’s haunt is 3X the size of our previous walkthrough. We have spent the last 6 months working on some new high tech scares that will knock your socks off!

How ABOUT THE YOUNG ONES?
For those families with kids that are too young for our scares, we open up the cave for a “No Scare Candy Hunt.” during the last two weekends of the event from 5-6pm. Families can tour the Pirates Cave with the lights on and no monsters in sight. Kids can search the mine for 3 candy stations thorughout the haunt if they are brave enough. This is brand new for this year!

How do you fund this?
Creating attractions at a high artistic level is costly. Every year we heavily rely on our sponsors as well as donations from our fans. This year, we are excited to announce that Jeffrey Simons of Keller Williams Realty, and Pam Dunn of Mulberry Street Mortgage will return as sponsors for this year’s event. If not for our sponsors and donations from our fans, we would have to seal off the cave for good. Please try to mention them in your story, as it goes a long way to having them continue to sponsor us.

Also new for 2021 is Express Queue. Pirate's Cave Haunt is a free non-profit event, made possible by donations from our guests and sponsors. To thank our donors, we have implemented Express Queue. This service is a one-time use front of the line pass for our newest attraction, Pirate's Cave: Curse of Calico Jack. See our website for more details. Express Queue is not required to experience this event. General Admission is free and reservations are not required*
